As someone who is constantly on the go and in a rush, there are times where I am forgetful and need specific files from my computer that I do not have at the moment. There is an application called "TeamViewer" that allows you to work on your home computer through another computer; however, only if the computer at home is turned on. This is useful and all, but for those like me who are constantly forgetful and nobody is at home to turn on the computer, I propose that there should be a new media application that allows you to use a third party computer viewer. This application would first download everything on your home computer an then upload it onto a online storage. This allows you to view your computer documents from wherever you are which makes it much more practical than just using TeamViewer. This technology could really benefit those who are constantly on the go and do not want to carry around a laptop and etc. The mobile and desktop access can provide extreme ease to everyone who possesses it.

  2. Hi Kevin,

I think that this is an amazing idea! Having a new media like this would combine so many databases and resources into one so it is easier to find files and work on it from different location and any devices. This system also seems like it will be more efficient. I also do agree with you that this will be very helpful to everyone . Great idea!

  3. Hey Kevin,

Do you have a Macbook by any chance? If so, you can use icloud drive and then easily view documents across devices, and even be able to airprint papers at the library! If not, I'm always on Google Drive to back up my files no matter where I am. It's a great app for mobile, even with spreadsheet files.

  4. This feature is already implemented with apple products and has been a great blessing. I can write an article on my laptop, and just leave my house and open the same article on my iPhone or iPad.

Privacy

New media has provided a great sense of mass communication for people all around the world; however, this does spark a major issue in today's society. That major issue is privacy and confidentiality. When a social media account is created, users are typically asked for private information regarding their personal biography, lifestyle and family and friends. In almost all of these new media, you are given the option of whether or not you want only your friends to see it, or you want the entire social media community to be able to see it. Over the years, many users are claiming that their privacy is not so "private" anymore considering that there are many loopholes for others to be able to learn about your private information. You can always use a friends account to view this person's private information and because of that, it defeats the purpose of a private account. Confidentiality is another issue considering that nothing is confidential. A private group on Facebook...

Wiki So Far

Over the past couple weeks, I began to perform research and decided to contribute to the "Sport" section where I will be adding on a new topic which is Tennis. More specifically, I would like to perform a detailed analysis of how Tennis as a sport has grown in popularity because of social media. Sporting brands such as Nike, Adidas, and Uniqlo have all decided to select certain tennis players to become their brand ambassadors and in order to market their brand and products successfully, these companies utilize the players social media. I would add in a detailed explanation of how superstar tennis player "Roger Federer" has switched sporting brands from Nike to Uniqlo and how in over just a couple months, have transcended the clothing brand into such a successful sporting brand utilizing his popular social media accounts. In addition, I decided to add an image into "NBA Social Media" to manifest to readers on what specifically are the social medias mentione...

Creativity

Ever since the creation of new media, this has allowed users and content creators all across the globe to be able to express their opinions and their work as well. New media has created a plethora of social media platforms and with the additions of applications like Photoshop, Premier and other editing visual apps, this has pushed content creators to work hard and produce better content. As a result of this, new media is able to foster creativity because creating the content is one thing, but being able to publish and show the worldwide is another. A prime example of new media fostering creativity was when a user on Youtube created a music video of Disney characters dancing in the song "Crank That Soulja Boy". Mashups "a re made by editing together snippets of animated movies and TV shows. The finished products look like music videos in which the cartoon characters do the singing" (Barnes, 3). Creative video creators are always passionate about combining the best ...
